Employee Referral Policy

Applicable Only for Academic Positions

1. Objective

The Employee Referral Policy provides a structured process for recruitment, allowing existing employees to refer candidates for academic positions at GSIS from their professional or social networks. Employee referrals are a trusted and effective source of recruitment, reflecting confidence in the judgment of GSIS employees who understand the school’s culture, values, and requirements.


2. Purpose

The policy aims to:

  • Connect GSIS with diverse talent pools.
  • Provide qualified candidates an opportunity to work with GSIS.
  • Recognize and reward employees for contributing to the recruitment of high-quality academic staff.

3. Scope

  • Applicable to all permanent academic employees of GSIS.
  • Exclusions: HR Department and Senior Management Team are not eligible to participate.
  • Covers referral bonus program wherein employees receive a monetary reward for successfully referring a candidate for an academic position.

4. Employee Referral Process

Referral Procedure:

  1. Vacancy Posting: HR posts the vacancy on the school intranet, job portals, social media, or via email to employees.
  2. Submission Requirements: Referring employee must submit a referral email containing:
    • Name of the applicant
    • Relationship to the employee
    • Academic subject applied for
    • Letter of recommendation highlighting why the candidate is suitable for the role
  3. Screening: HR verifies candidate details. Only those meeting the required qualifications and skills proceed to the next stage of recruitment.

Role of Referring Employee:

  • Limited to submitting the referral form and resume.
  • All interviews and recruitment formalities are conducted by HR and relevant academic authorities.

Conditions for Eligibility:

  • Referrals must come from employee contacts only; recruitment agencies cannot be used.
  • Exclusions:
    • Candidates directly supervised or interviewed by the referring employee.
    • Family members, blood relatives, or former GSIS employees.
    • Candidates already in the GSIS database or who applied through other sources.
  • There is no limit to the number of referrals an employee may make.
  • Hiring decisions are strictly confidential.
  • The referring employee is informed only after the candidate’s final selection.

5. Payment of Referral Bonus

  • Total Referral Amount: ₹10,000 per successful selection.
  • Payment Schedule:
    1. First installment (50%) after the candidate completes 6 months from joining.
    2. Second installment (50%) after the candidate completes 1 year from joining.
  • HR will coordinate with the Accounts Department, and the payment will be approved by the President/Senior Vice President.

Confidentiality

  • This policy is a confidential document of GSIS.
  • No part may be reproduced or transmitted in any form, electronically or mechanically, without prior written permission from School Management.
  • Unauthorized reproduction or transmission may lead to civil or criminal liability.

Amendments

  • The School reserves the right to modify, amend, or alter this policy, wholly or partially, at any time as deemed appropriate.
